Bootstrap Dinghy

Bootstrap DinghyThe Bootstrap Dinghy is a small workboat with an overall length of 7’6″, and a beam of 4’2″. It is designed to be used as a tender to a larger vessel. It’s small enough to be stowed on deck aboard many yachts. It has a safe load capacity of 450 lbs.

Row it, tow it, sail it, or put on a small motor (no more than 2.5hp is really needed). You can also try your hand at sculling. No matter how you choose to propel this tiny craft, you’ll find that it slips through the water with ease, and is very stable for a boat of this size given its generous beam. Six-and-a-half foot oars are recommended.

Bootstrap Dinghy Class at the BeachmoreThe Bootstrap Dinghy was designed for the home boatbuilder with no prior boat building experience. It’s quite simple and straightforward in both design and construction. No lofting is required, nor is there any need for a strongback, set of station molds, or forms.

Built inexpensively or to yacht standards, the Bootstrap Dinghy will perform well, and afford you with years of trouble-free service.
