Narraguagus Skiff

Narraguagus SkiffThe Narraguagus skiff is not a new design in the Shoestring Shipyard fleet. It is essentially a Sagamore Tender with very slight changes in a few of the dimensions and without a sail plan. The length remains at 11’6″ and the beam is also the same at 3’11″.

Several customers told me they liked the lines of the Sagamore Tender but had no ambition to sail it and did not feel it was fair to pay more money for drawings of the sail rig when they would not be using it.

The Sagamore Tender was redrawn in CAD without any sail rig and the Narraguagus Skiff is the result. With fewer drawings, the price of the plans for the Narraguagus Skiff is less than the Sagamore Tender.

The difference between the Narraguagus Skiff and the Frugal Skiff Series of designs remains the same as for the Sagamore Tender. The Narraguagus Skiff is more complex with the use of an additional main frame to allow more shape in the hull than the Frugal Skiff, yet remains within the scope of being a design for the novice boat builder – it simply takes a few more hours to construct.
